John 15:7 says ” If you remain in me and my word remains in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
That scripture enough speaks volume. So God is speaking to those who have not only a relationship with him (meaning we talking, in the teenage voice) but that you are connected to His word as well. And as a result of that all I have to do is wish for what I desire and it is done. So, If you don’t have what you wish could it mean that you are wishing for things that do not line up with his word. Are your wishes selfish and fleshly? Will that which he gives or do for you give him the glory or will it embarrass Him?
Let’s compare God with your earthly father and/or mother. If you ask your earthly father to let you use the car to go out with your friends what is he going to ask you first? Umm, My dad you ask me where I am going, what are my plans at that location and who am I going to be with. See, having a relationship means you have to have communication, experience and trust. See, my dad first knew I was a teenager and I wanted to hang out with my friends. Most of my friends parents either worked with him or for him. He knew my character but was not always sure of my friends character. He wants to make sure I was safe and that he would not be embarrassed because of choices that I make. Unlike God my father was not perfect so he knew personally about making wrong decisions. Some of the decision he has made was because of the company he kept so that was always a topic when it came to me and my friends. He did not just give me the key to the car because I was his daughter. He attempted to make sure he was well informed on my wear-about and my company be for he granted my wish.
See God is better than any earthly parent we have, even the ones who seem to be so great. I would include myself in statement. So when we have a relationship with Him he wants to make sure we are equipped with information, revelation and confirmation. He knows that his word is just that, information (experiences that many have had in the bible days), revelation (opens up today and shows us what may or will happen) and Confirmation ( assures and protects us.) I love that he states with the word “If”. God has given us choice. Our parents usually didn’t give us a choice. But even with a choice He shows us if we do choose Him and his word we are beneficiaries of His blessing and resources.
I don’t know about you but I choose God and his word. Not just because I want but because I need Him more than I want. Let Him be your provider. Trust and believe you will not regret it.
You are so awesome. Thanks for each day. I pray that those who are seeking a father will seek you. I trust you and need you. Take my word and writing as a way to praise you. Father decrease me and increase you in me so that my blog will be used to lift you up and others will be drawn to you. You said just that in John 12:32 ” And I , when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” You are my light and my salvation I will not fear, I will not fear. I will believe that you have covered me. My faith is made strong when I choose to believe. No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper. I will trust you all the days of my life. I love you and I worship you only.
