It’s Friday. Most people are usually happy on Fridays. That includes me. I truly love my career but I also enjoy the two-day break. It allows me to be refreshed and refocus on what I need to improve in myself for the next week and it also give me an opportunity to spend time with my husband and get my tank full at church.
Now, I don’t just wait until the weekend to fill my tank I connect with the word of God daily. It energizes me and set my steps and mouth on a course of letting God show up in me. I realize if I do not indulge in the word I usually taking on what I see and hear in the word as a guide for my steps (directions) and my mouth. I’m truly not saying that I’m living on an island and do not engage with others or look at the media to see what’s happening but I try not to let it change my direction in which I’m purposed to live and I will not allow my mouth to speak more about the “world happenings” than “Kingdom living.”
The reason we should focus our direction on “Kingdom living (Word of God)” is that the world happenings leaves us frustrated and lost but the word of God provides us with hope and love. Many times, when I look at the news and I hear something about the leadership of this country saying derogatory thing it makes me sad and mad but when I reflect on how God will allow the hardening of the heart of leaders change his peoples focus back to Him then I rejoice.
Philippians 3:5 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
Don’t lose hope because if you stay focus you can be used as an instrument to help other refocus.
God is not only good, he is wise and knows that you can choose who you worship but you also can see how the “world happenings” can cause pain and then you have the free will to choose who you will serve.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
